Institut Lean France (France Lean Institute) is an association of french Lean experts, contributing to the promotion of Lean in France through conferences, masterclasses, trainings and books (publication and sales). Major events organized by Institut Lean France are the Lean Summit in Lyon, every two years, and the european Lean IT Summit. But Institut Lean France also facilitates regular meetings of lean practitioners, whether in Industry (Manufacturing), Services, IT or Engineering / R&D, through specific events. And Institut Lean France supports a strong community of Lean Officers in major french companies (Club Lean).

Institut Lean France has also launched a rather unique approach of lean Academies in France, featuring gemba walks and practical application of lean tools and concepts within the subscribing companies, each participant hosting in turn such a workshop (11 sessions over 1 year). Both a practical training and the creation of a community of practice, those Academies are organized by Function (Engineering, Services) to focus on a specific environment.

Members of the Institut Lean France are volunteers, contributing pro bono to the events and masterclasses. 10 masterclasses are organized every year to share the experience of key Lean experts in their domains.

Books are also regularly produced by members of Institut Lean France: our most prominent contributor is Michael Balle, with, among others, his Gold Mine Trilogy, but Cecile Roche and Marie Pia Ignace have also published books (A little lean guide for the use of managers by Cecile Roche was translated to english in 2015).
